Homeschool Hybrid

The Homeschool Hybrid option is for families who would like to have their child attend FCS part time (less than 5 days a week). This option can be used by a homeschool family that is looking for part-time attendance or it can be used by a school family that can only attend part time. The student would attend FCS on select days to take advantage of academic help, elective classes and social relationships in the school setting. A student would be required to follow all the school standards and rules while in attendance. It would be expected that they will keep up with their schoolwork while at home (the academics are not part time!). While at school the student would take tests and get any needed academic help. The school uniform would be worn while at school and they would commit to coming on a particular day(s) each week for that entire semester. Their school academic records will be kept at FCS and report cards will be issued. The cost will include the CAP (Curriculum, Athletics, Programs) reimbursement ($70/month for grades K-6, $80/month for grades 7-12) and tuition (on a donation basis).

We expect a lot from our parents, and we expect even more from our home school families. We are fully committed to see your children succeed academically and to grow and develop to their fullest potential. Homeschooling takes commitment and responsibility, and it is not something to be entered into lightly. You do not have to do all the teaching; the materials are carefully designed to do that. As a home school parent, however, you will be superintendent of your child’s education and your child’s teacher. This requires a significant investment of time and effort. Our programs are designed to help you succeed in educating your child(ren). The responsibility to follow the state of Michigan educational laws is yours. However, FCS is here to help guide and assist you in that responsibility. We expect you and your student(s) to make significant progress each and every quarter as you complete your educational journey. The home school program’s school year will, for the most part, follow the Freedom Christian School calendar.
