When, where, how, why, who?

Why do we believe that Christian education is the only option for Christ-honoring families?

Our standard for all matters of faith and practice is found in the Bible. Therefore, we seek God’s mind first. The Bible clearly teaches that children belong the the Lord, and not to any government. The Lord has entrusted children to the parents as an heritage (Ps. 127:3). God’s Word also states that the parents are commanded to teach and raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Deut. 6:6, Eph. 6:4). This is a matter of stewardship and conviction, not financial ability. We recognize that God’s people are expected to obey governmental requirements, but that obedience does not supersede the clear revelation of Scripture. God has given government a vital role in the world, but it does not include the moral and religious education of God’s people. To require Christian children to participate in the activities of secular humanism is morally, psychologically, and spiritually damaging to the children, to the family, and to the church. The essential role of religious and doctrinal education lies strictly within the domain of the parents and the local church (Prov. 22:6). It is our belief, as given by God’s Word, that this is God’s design for God’s people.
